CENTRAL NEWS
On the occasion of the European elections tomorrow, 24 May, young people will take to the streets beyond Europe’s borders to draw attention to the global climate crisis.
The moment when young people get up, no longer accept the destruction of our future, rebel and start looking for something new is the beginning of a fundamental change. And that moment has come!
Young people have been walking on the streets for months now. They no longer accept that the ecological crisis continues day by day. And they are not the first. For decades millions of people have been demonstrating against ecological destruction. For decades we have been
appealing to politicians. But they only talk. Nothing has happened. That time is over. We must no longer expect anything from states and governments. Let us be the solution ourselves!
A crisis which is created by capitalism and from which only a radical break with this system offers a way out.
FFF say in their appeal:
“The climate crisis is the greatest challenge of our time and must have top priority in politics. Radical climate protection measures are necessary to ensure compliance with the 1.5 degree target. As the third largest CO2 emitter in the world, the EU bears a special responsibility in the fight against the climate crisis. Join us on the road and let us set an example for global climate protection”.
The last Global Climate Strike was on 15 of March. When the campaign MakeRojavaGreenAgain published a video message of the Rojava Youth to fridaysforfuture
