The youth organisation of Finland’s largest right-wing party, Finns, has sparked outrage by claiming that dark-skinned families are not welcome in the Nordic country.
In the run-up to the EU election, in which the Finns Party expects major electoral gains, Finnish Youth has shared a screenshot from a European parliament ad, which shows two happy dark-skinned parents and their child. “Vote Finns so that Finland’s future will not look like this”, Finnish Youth captioned the screenshot.
The Finns Party also posted a dramatic, comic book style video which tells a story about refugees migrating to Finland, “destroying societal values” and forsaking their “fatherlands culture”. The Law that is being passed which allows the dark-skinned refugees to migrate, causes chaos in the country. It causes white men to their jobs, and long lines of nationals in line for bread.
Refugees are explained in a tone that creates the notion that they are hungry villains, as it was the legislation created by the evil president who caused Finland to “open their doors to the foreign nations of the world, thinking little of its impending risks to the safety of its own people.”
The video also shows the black-masked ‘villains’ kidnapping a small, innocent blonde girl.
The video was shared on the party’s various social media platforms five days ago. Tuesday it was announced that they can no longer air it on the AMC owned cinema chain Finnkino, and the ad was pulled immediately.
