In many cells where hunger strikes and death fastings continue, provocative approaches and practices have been made to the prisoners. HDP Deputy and Legal Commission Spokesman Ayşe Acar Başaran, said that she has information that this command was made by the instruction of the Ministry of Interior.
PENALTIES OF ACTIONS
Ayşe Acar Başaran said according to information received, especially in Kandıra, Bakırköy and Şakran prisons cells where hunger strike and death fasting prisoners were held, were raided.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE BEING APPLIED
Başaran, who was sent to the C9 and C10 dormitories in Bakırköy Prison, which was one of the effected cells, said some prisoners were searched 3-4 times in the same day. She also shared that some of the prisoners were subjected to physical violence in these raids under the name of the search. Başaran said that she received a report of infirmary.
RADIO AND OTHER ITEMS CONFISCATED
During the search of the dormitories, radios, notebooks, pencils, books, letters and notes were confiscated. The prisoners were put on the floor.
INSTRUCTION FROM THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR!
Upon reaching this information, Başaran, who shared with the Director General of Prisons and Detention Houses, stated that she had been informed that the calls to the wards were made with the instructions of the Ministry of Interior.
Başaran said that the gathering of radios in the predominant and searched wards was significant in terms of timing. She emphasized that provocative approaches to hunger strike and dead fast activists were developed.
