Following the request of the People’s Leader, Abdullah Öcalan, to end the hunger strikes, insurgents have taken the decision to end their actions.
The insurgents of Xarpet Prison are reporting that the prison administration, did not consider the applications of the insurgents to be sent to the hospitals. They were told that the treatment would start on the prison campus.
HDP Çewlîg MP Erdal Aydemir rpeorted that he met with the prison directors who said that they would start treatments following the meeting, but the treatments have not started yet. The lawyers who met with the activists reported that those who have ended their hunger strikes were asked by the doctors what their complaints were; no further action was taken about their health issues, they said.
The lawyers reported that the hunger strikers Cengaver Aykul, Serkan Eren and Yasin Güngör began to vomit blood.
Remziye Akdağ, a detainee in the women’s ward, is also in critical condition.
